APART FROM THIS ANOTHER SHORT FILM "DWANDIK" (DIRECTED BY SNEHASHIS ROY CHOWDHURY) AND "BARI THEKE PALIYE" DIRECTED BY RITWIK GHATAK WAS SCREENED.

Path Geche Beke, a movie directed by a teenage filmmaker when he was a student of South Point School, will premiere at Gorky Sadan. Sangbit Samaddar, the filmmaker, is now a fresher at Ashutosh College. The film deals with the subconscious mind of an adolescent boy, and how he deals with the crisis of his awakening sexuality.

About the making of the film: this film is actually a spontaneous effort by a group of cinema lovers,rather students. It is not at all an organized effort but truly an enthusiastic try within a low budget.

Synopsis: Path geche beke delves deep into the subconscious mind of an adolescent. Sudip, a 12 year old boy finds himself in jeopardy of confusion and despair. He fails to understand the worth of his growing age. An utter dilemma regarding sexuality and maturity veils him. The film unfolds as Sudip gets acquainted with his imaginary self. As his adult psyche, comfortably settled, looks back into early teenage, he remises, of his introduction with a seductive maiden who breaks him free the shackles of conventional morality. A day and a half of his early teenage is portrayed and his perception towards life is established. He tries to penetrate into the obscure part of his conscious. He is released from the paradoxical world of reality and dreams. In that course an own identity of himself is established. The film deals with ideas of sex, education, and average urban life reflected through Sudip’s adventurous indifferent mind searching nirvana.

Arindra Rai Chaudhuri: arindra, who played the character of sudip in this film is associated with various tv soaps and feature films. He worked with veteran film maker sandeep ray in a popular film,” kailashe kalenkari” and was also a part of legendary Indian film maker buddhadev dasgupta’s “janala”, which was screened in various prestigious film festivals around the world. Apart from these acclaimed films he was also a part of some commercial films. A student of south point high school,arindra is associated with different co-curricular activities

Rituja Bakshi: rituja, earlier involved in co-curricular activities in her school, including drama, dance, sports etc. her passion towards cinema was right from her childhood. This film happens to be her first work. Here she has played the character of the dream girl.

Pritha Chatterjee: pritha has played the character of sudip’s mother in this film. She is closely associated with theatre and a well-known television actress. She is a part of super hit bangla soaps like “durga”, “khona” and many other popular projects. Pritha is also a part of a few bengali feature films.

Jayrup Bhattacharya: being a teacher of south point high school, jayroop is associated with the school’s extra curricular activities. He is also a theatre actor and director and was associated with some short and documentary films earlier. In this film he played the character of sudip’s father.

Parijat Sarkar: parijat is associated with theatre. This is his first film. Here he played the character of sudip’s school teacher.

Saptarshi Roy: saptarshi, a school student is associated with drama in school. In this film he has played the character of sudip’s friend. This is his first film

Subhrojit Majumdar: Subhrojit was associated with theatre and sports in schoollife. Related with a short film earlier, this is his second project. Here, he has played the character of elder sudip.

Sangbit Samaddar, Director: Sangbit a student himself has been associated with theatre in his school. His first film “ISOLATION” was highly acclaimed at the 14^thKolkata international film festival (2008). He has given his class 12 boards from south point high school, where apart from theatre he was associated with other co curricular activities. This is his second film.

Debayudh Chatterjee: Apart from being a class 12 student, he is a young poet, translator and has a passion for photography. His translations were published in “flavors of feelings and other stories” at the Kolkata book fair, 2009. His poetries were published in various famous magazines and also websites which includes, krittibas, banglalive.com etc.

Aditya narayan chatterjee: Aditya, a student of Asutosh College in mass communication and journalism department is associated with story writing and has a deep passion for cinema. He has been associated with theatre also in his school. This is his first film.

2^nd asst director (pre production):

Ammar mirza: Ammar, a student of A.J.C. bose college is already associated with asst. direction of some short films by rohit ganguly, which was screened in various film festivals. He is a well known model and has also being an observer in 1 feature film.

3rd asst. director (pre production):

Pallabi nandi: pallabi, a school student is intimately associated with co curricular activities with includes drama, fashion show, modeling, sports etc. in school. She is again associated with theatre for a long time apart from school. Again, apart from being the 3^rd asst. director (pre production) in this film, she has also managed to take up the responsibilities of the chief production manager.

Casting:

Riddindra rai chaudhuri: riddindra, was associated with theatre and sports in his school. This is first film where apart from handling the casting he has also managed the production process. he is now pursuing his studies in st. xaviers. College, kolkata mass communication and videography department.

Arindra rai chaudhuri: riddindra’s brother has also helped in the casting process. he has also been the lead actor in the film.

Pravatendu mondal, cinematographer and director of light: provatendu is a final year student of photography in r.i.p.t. jadavpur. He is pursuing the 3 years diploma course in photography. This film happens to be his first work.

Tarun mukerjee, sound recording and sound design: tarun mukerjee has been working as a sound recordist for a long time. He has worked as an asst. sound recordist in many documentaries, short films and also in some feature films. His notable works are love in india(documentary, director: Q)), bish(feature, director: Q)), donda(feature, director: suman ghosh), podajkkhep(feature, director: suman ghosh),he has worked as the main sound recordist in a documentary made upon Komal nath. He has also worked as a solo sound recordist in some short and documentary films.

Shubhodeep goswami, 1^st asst. sound recordist: a student of final year of sound in roopkala Kendra, shudhodeep has asst tarun in this film. He has been earlier associated with some short and documentary films.

Biswajeet dey, 2^nd asst. sound recordist: biswajeet has been assisting tarun in documentaries and short films.

Anamitra Roy: anamitra a student of film studies department in jadavpur university has designed the poster of this film. he is himself a poet, and is associated with short films and documentaries.

Music department:

Saunak das, director of music: saunak, a student of st. xaviers college, chemistry department was associated with a popular band, “rocks n rust” where he was the lead vocalist. This is his first film as a solo music composer. He is himself a fabulous singer, story writer, lyricist and a gifted poet.

Aneesh basu, director of music: aneesh has been associated with electronic music for a long time. He has been a part of sonic evolution, which has given the music in sangbit’s first film ISOLATION. He has also been the solo film scorer in some other short films. Aneesh is now associated with a popular kolkata based band "NOYZE AKADEMI" which plays within the genre of nu metal. He does live eloctronics along with the band.

Dipanjan guha, director of music: son of poet kalikrishna guha and rabindrasangeet singer sukhla guha, dipanjan is a highly skilled sitar player and has performed all over the world. Earlier dipanjan has already worked as an asst. music director in a Hollywood independent film. He is a software engineer by profession. He has played sitar in this film.

Kaustav kanti ganguly, asst. director: being a student of legendary Indian classical music maestro, pandit ajay chakrabarty, kaustav is associated with Indian classical music for a long time. He has been the solo music composer in some short and tele film previously. He is also the winner of the famous music competition held at dover lane annually. Kaustav is also a meritorious engineering student.

Edit:

Debarati: debarati has been working as an editor in many short films, documentaries and tele films. She has passed out from r.i.p.t. javadpur where she did a three years diploma course on photography. Her films are screened in various film festivals round the world.

Tathagata: tathagata has completed the color correction and the other effects of the film. he has earlier directed and edited many highly acclaimed short and documentary films which was screened in various film festivals round the world.
